Aerostar Defense Launches in Huntsville

Aerostar Defense Announces Expansion into Applied Electromagnetic Sciences and Airborne Experimentation

Huntsville, Alabama — May 2026   Aerostar Defense today announced the launch of its research and development portfolio with the establishment of the Einstein Applied Sciences Laboratory, a founder‑led initiative focused on accelerating U.S. sovereign capability through rapid prototyping, advanced materials research, and airborne mission‑system experimentation.

The new laboratory strengthens Aerostar’s role as an integrator of electromagnetic materials, digital‑thread engineering, and aviation‑grade test environments. It also supports the company’s growing partnership ecosystem, including the ATS Microjet platform, which will serve as a modular airborne testbed for coatings, sensors, and mission‑system payloads, and support aerial target services at major test ranges.

“Aerostar was created to solve a problem I lived firsthand,” said Dr. Rob Wentz, the company’s founder. “Innovative technologies were trapped in slow, legacy processes. The Einstein Applied Sciences Laboratory is designed to break that cycle, moving ideas from concept to flight test with the speed the modern battlespace demands.”

The laboratory will focus on:

  • Electromagnetic materials science and low‑observable surface technologies
  • Digital‑thread integration for mission‑system development
  • Airborne prototyping using the ATS Microjet experimental platform
  • Rapid test‑and‑iterate cycles for coatings, sensors, and mission payloads

Aerostar Defense continues to expand its technical footprint in the Huntsville defense ecosystem, supporting U.S. and allied partners seeking faster, more agile pathways to capability development.
